Giorgos Sardelis, born in 1976, in Athens, Greece, is a graduate of the Medical School of Belgrade, Serbia, (1995-2001) and specialised to Medical Microbiology/Biopathology at the Evangelismos Athens General Hospital, the largest and one of the oldest public hospitals in Greece. He has also one year GP practice, in the Greek countryside, studying and practicing Internal Medicine and Surgery. And he has practiced at the General Hospital of Mytilene "Vostaneio" and during his service in Greek army.
He has participated in various microbiologic works.

He started practicing in Belgrade, Serbia, Kick boxing in 1996, when he also tried the basics of boxing, Shotokan Karate and later Judo. In Belgrade, Serbia, in 1998 started practicing Aikido and Ki development, under Goran Kurnik and he also practiced Aikikai Aikido for some time under Mr. Ranko Lasitsa. In 1999, he met George Koliopoulos Sensei and entered the FukuShinKan dojo of Athens, Greece, becoming a full active member after completing his studies and returning to Greece in 2001. He also trained under Mr. Dimitris Georgiadis (a student of Koliopoulos Sensei) at the Zenshinkan dojo, Mytilene, Greece. In 2007 he acquired the 1st Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo and in 2010 the 2nd Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo.

He became a member of the Aikido Tokaido Dojo in 2012 under the guidance of Petros Moulagiannis sensei and he is a founding member of the Hellenic Aikido Union (HAU) under the technical direction of Michel Erb Sensei - a personal student of Christian Tissier 8. Dan Aikikai Hombu Dojo, Shihan.

Throughout his training in Aikido, he has attended many seminars in Greece and abroad with senior instructors such as the great-grandson of the Founder, Waka-Sensei Mitsuteru Ueshiba, S. Sugawara Sensei, T. Mori Sensei and Y. Kobayashi Sensei from Aikikai Hombu and also the officials of the International Aikido Federation (IAF) P. Goldsbury Sensei, K. Izawa Sensei, W. Vriesman Sensei, and J. Rogers Sensei. He has also attended seminars under the instructions of C. Tissier, M. Ikeda, M. Minegishi, K. Igarashi, K. Shirakawa, T. Suga, D. Waite, T. Kuroki, U. Evenås, B. E. Olsen, W. Smith, G. Jones, P. Brady, P. Smith, M. Erb and P. Guillemin.

In 2016, Giorgos Sardelis made real an additional dream of his and started practicing Kendo at the Furyu Dojo Athens under the instructions of Spiros Drossoulakis Sensei - personal student of the late Oda Katsuo Iaido Hanshi 8. Dan, Kendo Kyoshi 7. Dan - and his assistants Apostolos Karagiannis and Michael Padras. He participated in special classes and Kendo events organized by the Furyu Dojo Athens and the Hellenic Kendo Iaido Naginata Federation

He attended the educational program "PHOTOGRAPHY: TECHNOLOGY AND BASIC TECHNIQUES" (academic year 2017-2018) and graduated on May 25th 2018 successfully from the Supplementary Distance Education Programme (E-Learning) of the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the NATIONAL and KAPODISTRIAN UNIVERSITY of ATHENS.

He has photographed and filmed various budo events in Greece, including the 26th European Iaido Championships 2019 and the 5th Japanese Martial Arts Demonstration 2016, organized by the Embassy of Japan in Greece.

In 2018-2019 attended and graduated successfully from the program SECURITY MANAGEMENT - CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive defence) of the NATIONAL and KAPODISTRIAN UNIVERSITY of ATHENS.

In 2009, he started blogging, establishing the website "Aikicosmos", devoted to Aikikai Aikido and in 2016 he created the website "Budo Greece". He has also created blogs and websites for Aikido Tokaido Dojo and the Hellenic Aikido Union, along with the creation of their events' posters. In the past, some of his articles were published by the Greek magazine, for the martial arts, ΜΟΝΟΠΑΤΙ.

Giorgos Sardelis loves blogging and writing, and he is a studier of history, culture and international relations.
